How to get started

During your training as a metal worker (m/f/d), we will accompany you from the start:

  • In our training workshop you will get to know all the operations, machines and processes step by step. We always introduce you to new techniques in metalworking.
  • Gradually you will be able to process parts independently, until you are completely integrated into our client projects by the end of your training.
  • During this time your colleagues and trainers will be at your side during this time and will support you.
  • Your vocational school lessons take place in Steinfurt in block teaching. Regular inter-company training will further develop your skills.

Apprentice metal worker specialising in construction technology (m/f/d)

During your apprenticeship with us the focus is on the manufacture and assembly of components and structural elements for metal and steel structures as well as various container constructions.

An apprenticeship as a metal worker specialising in construction technology (m/f/d) takes 3 1/2 years. 
The following apprenticeship contents await you:
 
1st apprenticeship year:

  • Production of structural elements with hand-guided tools
  • Production of structural elements with machines
  • Manufacture of simple assemblies
  • Maintenance of technical systems

2nd apprenticeship year

  • Manufacture of sheet metal components
  • Manufacture of structures from profiles
  • Manufacture of formed parts
  • Dismantling and assembly of assemblies in the workshop

3rd and 4th years

  • Manufacture of steel and metal structures
  • Manufacture of doors, gates and gratings
  • Manufacture of windows, facades and glass annexes
  • Manufacture of steps and railings
  • Maintenance of metal and steel systems

During this time, you will attend vocational school in block lessons.

For the apprenticeship as a metal worker specialising in construction technology (m/f/d), you should have a good secondary school leaving certificate or the intermediate school leaving certificate. Good comprehension, manual dexterity and technical understanding are helpful, as is good spatial awareness. We expect you to be reliable, a team player and willing to work hard.

Apprentice metal worker (m/f/d)

In your apprenticeship as a metal worker (m/f/d), you will learn how to produce metal components using cutting and non-cutting metalworking and forming techniques.

An apprenticeship as a metalworker (m/f/d) takes three years.
The following apprenticeship contents await you:
 

1st apprenticeship year:

  • Production of structural elements with hand-guided tools
  • Production of structural elements with machines
  • Manufacture of simple assemblies
  • Maintenance of technical systems

2nd apprenticeship year

  • Manufacture assemblies from sheet metal for plant and construction technology
  • Manufacture assemblies from pipes and profiles
  • Assemble and dismantle metal structures
  • Prepare and follow up assembly work

3rd apprenticeship year

  • Prepare and realise metal and steel structures
  • Prepare and realise system structures made of non-ferrous metals
  • Prepare and manufacture assemblies made of non-ferrous metals

During this time, you will attend vocational school in block lessons.

For the apprenticeship as a metal worker (m/f/d), you should have a secondary school leaving certificate. Good comprehension, manual dexterity and technical understanding are helpful, as is good spatial awareness. We expect you to be reliable, a team player and willing to work hard.

In your apprenticeship as a logistics specialist (m/f/d), you will learn to receive goods, check them and store them properly. You will also load and dispatch goods You will compile deliveries and create route plans with a view to optimising logistical processes.

An apprenticeship as a logistics specialist (m/f/d) takes three years.
The following apprenticeship contents await you:
 

1st apprenticeship year:

  • Receive and check goods
  • Store goods
  • Process goods
  • Transport goods within the operation

2nd apprenticeship year

  • Pick goods
  • Package goods
  • Plan routes
  • Load goods

3rd apprenticeship year

  • Dispatch goods
  • Optimise logistic processes
  • Procure goods
  • Determine and evaluate key figures

You will attend vocational school two days a week.

For the apprenticeship as a logistics specialist (m/f/d), you should have a good secondary school leaving certificate or the intermediate school leaving certificate. Good comprehension skills and physical resilience will help you just as much as enjoyment of commercial and technical issues. We expect you to be reliable, a team player and willing to work hard.

Apprentice industrial management assistant (m/f/d)

An industrial business management assistant is responsible for purchasing goods for a company and managing them. He or she takes care of calculating the costs for new and ongoing projects and adhering to current budgets. Internal processes in the company are monitored and sometimes planned by industrial clerks. Furthermore, an industrial clerk can be involved in the development of advertising measures, depending on the field of employment. For example, they help decide which advertising posters are printed and which newsletters are sent out. Of course, they also work in accounting, monitor incoming and outgoing invoices or plan personnel deployment. An industrial clerk is often considered an all-rounder behind the scenes of a company because of the numerous tasks involved.

The training for Industrial Business Management Assistants (m/f/d) lasts three years.
The following training contents await you: 


1st + 2nd apprenticeship year
In-company training:

  • Information, communication, work organisation

  • Procurement and stockpiling
  • Personnel

Training at the vocational school in the learning fields:

  • Orientation in education and profession

  • Analyse and evaluate value-added processes
  • Planning, controlling and monitoring service provision processes
  • Planning, controlling and monitoring procurement processes
  • Carry out human resources management tasks
  • analyse and evaluate annual financial statements
  • classify the company in the overall and global economic context

3rd apprenticeship year
In-company training and, if required, in inter-company training courses:

  • Deepening the knowledge from the 1st and 2nd year of training
  • Technical tasks in the field

Training at the vocational school in the learning fields:

  • Plan, manage and control sales processes
  • Planning investment and financing processes
  • Implementing corporate strategies and projects

The training is carried out in parallel in the training company and at the vocational school. The vocational school lessons take place on certain weekdays or in block form.

For training as an Industrial Business Management Assistant (m/f/d), you should have a secondary school leaving certificate. A feeling for numbers is just as necessary as good oral and written communication skills. Friendliness and organisational skills will help you just as much as fun in commercial and technical contexts. We expect you to be reliable, a team player and willing to work hard.

Steps towards the internship

  1. Apply and show us in your interview what you are interested in and why you would like to get to know us.
  2. If you can convince us, then you will receive an acceptance for an internship with us for at least one week.
  3. At a joint meeting we will explain all the details and take you on a tour of the company.
  4. You will start your internship at Hillebrandt on the agreed date.

Steps towards your apprenticeship

  1. Apply and show us in your interview that you would like to join our team..
  2. If you can convince us, then you will receive an acceptance for an apprenticeship with us.
  3. At a joint meeting we will explain all the details and give you detailed information on the exact structure of your apprenticeship. We will take you on a tour of the company. Once all questions have been answered you will sign your apprenticeship contract.
  4. You will begin your apprenticeship with us on 1 August. We look forward to meeting you!
